Using The Test of Variables of Attention
(T.O.V.A.)
The T.O.V.A. is a highly
accurate computerized assessment ideal as a screening tool for ADD.
It is non-language based to differentiate ADD from Learning Disorders.
The T.O.V.A. is used for screening diagnosing, and monitoring behavior.
In
the School T.O.V.A. is used:
- As a screening
tool in conjunction with a classroom behavior rating.
The
T.O.V.A. is used by clinicians:
- As a measure of
attention in neurological injuries and disorders.
- As a diagnostic
tool, as part of a multifaceted, multidisciplinary assessment
of children, adolescents, and adults who may have an attention
deficit.
- As a tool to predict
response to medication and to determine optimal dosage.
- As a medication
monitoring tool to gauge the patient's reaction to medication
over time.
